Unique Lantern Queen Fieldtrips: Educational & Fun! The Lantern Queen is a Mississippi style riverboat, completely propelled by its two paddlewheels. The enclosed, climate controlled main deck seats up to 60 comfortably, and is equipped with digital projector and screen. Restrooms are also located on this deck. The open upper deck is perfect for observation and activities. Each Lantern Queen field trip includes fun, standards- based activities, as well as time for lunch and guided sightseeing. Your students will explore the Susquehanna River (the Chesapeake Bay's largest tributary), and the Upper Chesapeake Bay. They will learn about the heritage and geography of this important area, and explore ways to improve the health of the Chesapeake Bay. (Raw water quality and weather data is available to you and your students via a NOAA Smart Buoy.) In addition, students will learn about the science behind the Lantern Queen. Students will leave the Lantern Queen ready to make a difference in the health of the Chesapeake Bay and their own neighborhoods. Pricing for a two hour educational field trip:
$19.50 per person for 30 or more students. $29.75 per person for less than 30 students. Add box lunches for $8.00 per student.
