Built in Lacrosse Wisconsin by
Lacrosse Boat Works, one of sixteen similar vessels. For several
years the vessel operated on the Missouri River out of Yankton South
Dakota under the name of Far West as a dinner cruise vessel.
In 1994 it was purchased by a
gentlemen in Englewood Florida who owned a restaurant by the name of
"The Ships Lantern". The vessel was renamed Lantern Queen and was
operated in conjunction with the restaurant. In 1996 the Lantern
Queen was purchased and completely restored by Captain Jack Morey.
Captain Morey operated the Lantern Queen on the Susquehanna River
until Spring 2007.
In summer, 2007, the Lantern
Queen was purchased by River City Trading, LLC, who will resume
operations on the very scenic Upper Chesapeake Bay and Lower
Susquehanna River, offering charter and public dinner cruises with
historic narration.
