Paper Tickets

You will not receive paper tickets.

You will receive an email invoice that will serve as your

credit card receipt and proof of purchase. Your purchase

is automatically entered on the passenger manifest for

your cruise.

Cruise Attire

Most of our public cruise guests dress as they would for

dinner at a nice restaurant.

Directions

You can find directions to the Lantern Queen from almost

anywhere on our directions page.

Weather

Rain and snow generally do not disrupt the Lantern

Queen's schedule. The only weather that we truly dread

is wind. Heavy wind makes maneuvering the Lantern

Queen difficult.

Cancellation

Only in extreme conditions will the event be cancelled by

RCT. If, in the opinion of the Lantern Queen crew,

conditions on the Susquehanna River pose a safety risk,

the Lantern Queen will remain docked and the event will

continue as planned while moored at the dock.  Likewise,

in the case of mechanical failure that prevents cruising,

he event will be held while docked.

Propulsion & Fuel

The Lantern Queen is propelled by the paddlewheels only!

A Detroit Diesel engine powers two hydraulic pumps, which

in turn power two hydraulic motors, which turn the

paddlewheels. In addition, the diesel engine powers a

30KW generator which provides all the electric power we

need. Amazingly we burn less than 5 gallons of diesel per

hour, making the Lantern Queen a very efficient and

environmentally friendly vessel!
